Who had the great Idea:

Two globetrotters founded Travelroomers. 

Why join:

Travelroomers is a great inexpensive way to get to know a new culture, both when visiting and when receiving visitors from other countries.

Be accepted in the community in a way you never could if you were a tourist on a typical package deal.

For example, when I travel to Italy, I want to meet Italians, see how they live, hang out with the locals , try to absorb the culture. Those are things you can tell stories about when you get home.

Why travel with the crowd, to the commercial vacation mekkas, where the population is 90% American tourists, and you have all the privacy and amenities of home ? You might as well have stayed home.

Many Travelroomer members join just  to have new guest at their house all the time, when they don't have time to travel themselves. you can chose your guests, sometimes you get very entertaining guests and learn about cultures form all over the world.

How much does it cost ?

After the registration fee of 20$ per year , accommodations are completely free. 

How does it work ?

-As soon as you become a member , You can go to (View listings) and log in

-chose a member that interests you, view their profile and send them an e-mail , to see if they are interested in a house guest for   a  few days.

-We recommend that the host and traveler write back and forth at least a few times, so they get to know each other.

-The Host decides either to accept or deny the traveler. Only at that point is it recommended to trade addresses.
